本次教学，从连词（Conjunctions）入手。

孩子应该知道，连词的作用，就是把句子连接起来。

为了帮助孩子观察连词的功能，妈妈可以写出下面五组句子。每组句子，均由 3 句话组成，把前两句连接到一起，就是第 3 句。妈妈可以用荧光笔，像下面这样，把第 3 句里的连词涂上颜色。

第一组：

Tom likes apples.

Jerry likes apples.

Tom and Jerry like apples.

第二组：

Tom is sick.

Tom wants to go to school.

Tom is sick but he wants to go to school.

第三组：

The bell rang.

The students went back to class.

When the bell rang, the students went back to class.

第四组：

Mom watches television.

Papa reads the newspaper.

Mom watches television while Papa reads the newspaper.

第五组：

The teacher is angry.

Jerry is late.

The teacher is angry because Jerry is late.
