本次教学，围绕 Both…and… 展开，训练孩子的句法意识。练习之前，让孩子看下面的句子。

① Jim is my friend. （吉姆是我朋友。）

② Nancy is my friend. （南希是我朋友。）

妈妈问孩子：上面两个英语句子，有什么相同的地方？有什么不相同的地方？

孩子说：上面两个句子，开头不一样，但是后面都一样。

妈妈说：像这样的句子，我们可以利用“Both…and…”，把两句话合并成一句话。

妈妈一边说，一边在纸上写：

Jim is my friend + Nancy is my friend

= Both Jim and Nancy are my friends.

写完之后，妈妈问孩子：找找看，合并完的句子，和原来有什么变化？

孩子说：原来句子的 is 变成了 are

妈妈说：在 is 前面，只能是一个人，或者一个动物，或者是一个东西，总之只能是一个，如果 is 前面不止一个人，不止一个动物，或者不止一个东西，那就得写成 are

孩子又说：原来句子里的 friend 变成了 friends

妈妈说：咱们简单回顾一下名词的单复数（点击这里）

妈妈用荧光笔，像下面这样，把句子里的“Both”，“and”，“are”和“friends”涂上颜色。

Both Jim and Nancy are my friends.

吉姆和南希都是我朋友。

妈妈还要告诉孩子，英语句子，可不是随便一合并就行的，合并之后，还要看看是否符合英语规范。符合英语的规范，是受过良好英语教育的表现。

接下来，妈妈鼓励孩子说：今天，我们练习用 Both…and…，把 2 个句子合并到一起。

开始练习喽！

一、让孩子动笔，利用 Both…and…，合并下列五组句子。

建议妈妈让孩子练习之前，把句子里的 is 全都涂上荧光笔。并再次提醒孩子：在 is 前面，只能是一个人，或者一个动物，或者是一个东西，总之只能是一个，如果 is 前面不止一个人，不止一个动物，或者不止一个东西，那就得写成 are

① Jack is playing on the slide. （slide: 滑梯）

② Owen is playing on the slide.

① + ② =

① The fish is fried.

② The chicken is fried.

① + ② =

① The swimming pool is near my house.

② The stadium is near my house. （stadium: 体育场）

① + ② =

① The bedroom is dusty.

② The living room is dusty.

① + ② =

① Jill is watching television.

② Jill's brother is watching television.

① + ② =

二、完成之后，一起对答案。

Both Jack and Owen are playing on the slide.

Both the fish and the chicken are fried.

Both the swimming pool and the stadium are near my house.

Both the bedroom and the living room are dusty.

Both Jill and her brother are watching television.

孩子写错的句子，要重新誊抄一遍。

三、对完答案，让孩子像上面那样，把句子里的 Both…and… 以及 are 都划上荧光笔。
